No mention of NG, even though we were the real heros :(

Just another link.

"A TEENAGER who boasted on the internet about a plan to attack his school was arrested yesterday after cops got a tip-off from CANADA."

Awesome!

The Sun is a pretty bad news source.

Who would've thought that Newgrounds of all places would be the cause of a prevention of attempted arson?

Watch yourselves kiddies, we're not just here to make dick jokes anymore.

Looks like you're getting the credit from the Telegraph too:

<a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/5008568/Pupil-arrested-over-school-attack-after-threat-posted-on-internet.html">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknew s/5008568/Pupil-arrested-over-school-
attack-after-threat-posted-on-interne t.html</a>

"Officers rushed to the school after a member of the public in Canada called British police warning them about a threatening message which they had seen posted on a website."

Once again, well done man, shit could've turned out very ugly if you and deskhead didn't act.

Thanks! Got it in here now.

Don't know if this link will work forever, but it tracks the most recent news articles about the incident automatically.

I'll put that in.

Are anyone involved in assisting the police actually Canadian, or have they just mixed up the IP addresses of the website?

I'm Canadian.

No love for Joe in all the press :(

No fair to him, but I suppose it looks far more exotic when they say someone from Canada did all the talking.

But still :(

Yeah, well, that's the news. It sucks, but we all know in our hearts that Joe was awesome. Besides, the story's still young - follow-ups are bound to reveal him. I don't think anyone of the press has seen this writeup. :P

i was there awsome he got arrested now he will be like guys i was just kidding hope he has fun getting fucked in jail lamo

I don't think he'd be serving jail time...

Nice, Rig. NEVER delete this!

Of course not!

That Sun article seemed like they were surprised someone from Canada actually did something good. O_o

I think they're surprised that Canada has communications technology.

They were surprised, someone from Canada called the British police. ;)

Christ, the least the press could do is plug your tunes.

WHO WATCHES THE NGers?!

THE POLICE DO NOW

the video on the bbc article #2 mentions deckhead as well btw

direct link to the video i mentioned should have included it earlier really
<a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7950906.stm">http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/79 50906.stm</a>

Cool, thanks!

Well, I was wrong. I thought it was just attention whoring, so I made a point of it somewhere in the thread.

Figures.

SO wrong.

lawl

Also, why does the news seem to think that social networking websites are the only thing on the internet? Honestly, it's all they reffer to it as. Newgrounds =/= social networking. D:

GO TEAM RIG.

GO TEAM INTERNET.

GO TEAM NEWGROUNDS!

Damn, I live in Norfolk too and I've spoken to him on NG before, he even asked me if I wanted to meet up (thank God I didn't). Saw this on the local news aswell, pretty weird knowing he lives near.

The Internets: Serious Business.
