Rucklo and YunVeroz are tied for most hardware.

ArisingFlame has the most VSTs.

Nobody with a "T" in their name uses only Reason.

All users with a "V" in their name use FL Studio.

All Reason 4 users (except me) have aliases starting with "S."

Thanks! I've added you to the hall of fame. :)

All users with a number in the middle of their names (not at the end) use FL.

Most popular artist: ParagonX9

Artist with most on Top 5: SBB

Most Norwegian artist: SBB

All users with numbers in their names that are used to represent letters use FL.

PX9's already on there. Those number facts are interesting...
So SBB's been on the top 5 consistently, or just at the moment?

Random Facts:
There are only 9 users who do not use FL or Reason
PianoForte is the only person who uses Cubase on it's own.
If FL Studio and Reason had a baby, that would be the most whoop-ass baby out there.
There are two users that do not have sequencers, they just have audio editors.

Good eye, man! Added.

Largest contributor of facts: navij11

True. I'll get that on.

DAMN. How long did you work on this list?! :P

I got a good chunk of it from DSM's original thread, but I've added my own stats and layouts...I've probably spent a good 3 hours on this combined.

bah I only got top 5 weekly twice

I've got songs on that top 30 all time list about a 20 times though

Also, fix;

Hey, you're right. I should change that.

Possibly Best reviewer: Karco

Take a look at his reviews for more details ;)

Added, man. Thanks! He needs to get his programs on the list...

Hey, look at that! I've been mentioned as possibly the best reviewer! I'm flattered. :) As for what I use...

SEQ: FL Studio 7
AE: Audacity
VST: Nexus

You can just copy-paste that. ;D

No problem man! Glad you could make it.
And Nexus = win.
Oh, and congrats of being the 77th user on the list :D

INTERESTING FACT: Pyro-Maniac25892 is the only user who has a sequencer that contains a capital E

lolololol
I'm gonna keep that.

TheProdjulum has the most sequencers.

All users of Nexus have an "o" in their names (or used to, in MusicalTinker's case).

Arnas is the only user of Magix Music Maker. Aka, the only person with a sequencer that has three capital "M"s.

I noticed the sequencer bit too. I don't know if the third fact is interesting enough to make it on the list, though...but I'll put Magix in the "Least used sequencers" section.

Haha, I came late to the party >_>;

SEQ = Renoise, Reason 3.0 (yes, I know renoise isn't really a sequencer, but I use it for most of my melody/beat building needs, reason is just backup)
AE = Audacity
HW = Shure PG-81 Condenser, Yamaha MG/10-2 Mixer...do acoustic instruments count as hardware? :P If so, Freeman Tweaked Shaw Whistle, White Bodhran, Tipple Low D Flute, Caledonian Bagpipes Chanter

Better late than never, and you're fashionably late anyways :)
Thanks!

SEQ: FL Studio 7
AE: Audacity, Edison (for small clips)
VST: RigBass, PoiZone
SF: 1115-Violin Langtons, Squidfont_orchestral, tgsf21x

lol, RigBass ;)
Thanks! I was wondering when you'd swing by...

my username has the highest B-quota compared to namelenght

Meh. Not interesting enough, sorry.

Whoa. Awesome list. =D

I guess I'm an artist too.

SEQ: FL Studio, Psycle (heard of it? it's freeware I kinda like)
AE: Audacity, Wavepad
HW: My GORGEOUS PCR-M50

You're on now, man!

No users that only use Reason have VSTs. lolnubs

lulz dey cnat maek teh muziks withot vsts

it was a j03k

and a stupid one at that

lul :3

Since it's all just personal preference, what's up with people thinking Reason is gay? In my personal opinion, that's the straightest sequencer that's "come out"; unless, of course, the statistics are done by a gay person because then, and only then, would gayness not be so derogatory. Reason not only is THE best on the market for sequencers, it kicks-ass with features, from what I've experienced put FL to shame! It just plain sounds more professional than any other music program/sequencer. But, I must say, I'm pretty impressed with Ableton Live and how close in comparison it is with the new Reason.

Fruity Loops and Reason are very different even though they can get you to the same level of music producing. Fruity Loops is more of a lower grade sequencer. It's better compared to Cubase, Nuendo, Logic etc. Reason is more of a virtual rack studio that needs no extra VSTs because it is implemented within the program other than sound refills, which most sequencers need anyways. I think it's a great program for anyone who may want to go the hardware route one day, but at the end of the day Reason is better called and used as a VST than a full fledged studio and it's small hassles of rendering and recording at an actual studio. Neither is really better than the other honestly because they're completely different, but Reason will get you laughed at less than FL here on NG from what I've seen and experienced.

BTW...thanks for the add on the list. Hopefully this will keep those millions PMs people leave in my message box asking what program I use. Lol This is a great idea!

It was just a little joke amongst us FL users. :) Nice defense, though. I've never tried Reason, but it looks very powerful indeed.
And yeah, just PM all those guys back with a link to this list! :D

Uggh, DreamScaper, we were just joking around about Reason. Having used both of those programs, I can safely say that I will continue to use FL.

I would LOVE, and I mean LOVE to use Reason, but Reason lacks a few completely essential things that FL has. First off, Reason has a HORRIBLE sequencer. I've used Reason 4, its an improvement, but its still bad. In comparison, FL has a great sequencer. Why? First off, FL allows you to EASILY loop something, such as a break, over and over! Its painless! Next in the sequencer, FL can do both curves AND drawing pencil! WHOA :O! There are no curves in reason, only straight lines. I guess that makes FL the "Fruity (GAY)" one and Reason the "straight" one. Thirdly, FL's use of one-time audio clips is awesome. Just slap it on the bottom and be done with it.

FL also has VSTs, and I'm not saying "WELL REASON DONT HAVE VSTS SO U CANT MAKE SOUNDS LOL!" Personally, I prefer Reason's synths to FL's, but FL's VSTs allows for SO MUCH more FX capabilities than Reason. I mean, its huge the amount of things you can do. Does Reason have a harmonic exciter? A downsampler? I think not. Of course, FL also suffers from having too many VSTs, so its impossible to choose the right one. That, however is easily solved.

Now, why Reason is good. Reason's SOUND is.. simply... incredible. You can get such warm, analog sounds using Reason, its just unparalleled. And the Rack is also awesome to use, and it feels really intuitive, rather than FL. In addition to being intuitive, it also allows you to have an unlimited number of FX, mixers, etc, without creating new sends or inserts.

Now, for the PROBLEMS with each:
FL is "amateurish." People say it is, but it really isn't. It's just that most of the noobs gravitate towards it, so you will get labeled as a user of it. Also, you can never get away with using FL's presets, where you can in Reason. Its just so super obvious...

Problems with Reason... NO CURVES... MY GOD! Its so annoying to have no curves, you don't even know (or do you o.O). Reason also has some really shitty FX devices. Um... I couldn't get a Thor and a Malstrom layered... I just couldn't. It wouldn't work, not with Spider Audio Combiner, not with a combinator, not in a mixer, where the output is routed... whatever. I just have trouble with Reason's FX... and the distortion needs to be tighter... Well, that's not for me to judge, but CamelPhat is convenient, and Reason doesn't have CamelPhat.

Ok, I'm starting to babababbabale so I'll wrap it up with: PERSONAL PREFERENCE! And no, ReWire is not the answer. It is only a means to an end.

There you have it, folks.

I got a good fact, The number of people with FL Studios that use the Sytrus: 16

(And I'm the last one on the list that uses it =D)

Sure, I'll put that on. Sytrus is great, but it just uses too much of my CPU
Once I get a better comp...

It's all good navij11. I just needed clarification on what and why people thought so negatively on Reason since most of the ones who do think negatively about it use FL Studio, which honestly made sense considering how different both sequencers are from each other. I'm still very partial to Reason's production quality well over FL simple usability. I'd rather my music sound better than for it to be produced so simply. I found the simpler the production is on my music, the less options I have to make it sound. But, we've all agreed, it's just a personal preference. I'll shut-up now about this swayed-from-the-original-topic topic. = )

With the right VSTs, you can get whatever sound you want out of FL. It kinda sucks - you have to pay MORE to get better sounds. Thanks for your opinions, guys!
